top summer nail polish picks

I'll literally use any excuse to buy a nail polish (a few of these were down to revision procrastination but shh...) and so I thought I'd post about a few of the colours that I've been wearing most lately, and a couple of little nail saviours as well.

First up are two products that I literally rely on so much to prevent my nails from breaking and splitting. My nails are really brittle even in the summer months, and so for my birthday my housemates bought me Essie Rock Solid, which promises to strengthen and bond any splits in your nails. This is literally the best base coat I have ever used, and I will definitely be repurchasing it when it runs out. This is a product that would be great to take abroad too, as it will prevent your nails drying out too much from spending too much time in the pool!

I like a really high shine finish on my nail polish, and for this I use Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Top Coat. I find that it keeps my nails glossy for days, and prevents them splitting and chipping too much. The combination of this pair is pretty much the nail saviour dream team as far as I'm concerned! Definitely worth investing in these products if you suffer from brittle nails too.

Colour wise, I've been really drawn to brights, the occasional classic shade and a festival-inspired sparkly shades!

1. Coral is hands down my favourite colour at the moment, so I picked up Revlon Strawberry Cream because it's just so summery and pretty. For more on this one, check out my video where I chat about it a little more!

2. No7 is literally one of my favourite brands at the moment, so I decided to go for a classic red from their Stay Perfect line. This shade is Devils Delight, and is the perfect colour to match with bright red lippies such as MAC Lady Danger and No7 Love Red, which is exactly what I have been doing!

3/4. From the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine range, I recently picked up Mango which is a true orange, and Blue Grape which is the perfect cobalt blue. As well as these being incredible colours, the consistency of these is great too. They are also long lasting, so definitely worth buying! (They are also on 3 for 2 in Superdrug at the moment, just a cheeky heads up...)

5. I knew very little about Urban Outfitter's nail polishes until lately, but I've really been loving Quartz, which is a silvery blue with glittery flecks. I'm definitely going to be reaching for this for festivals and barbecues etc.

What are your favourite picks for summer so far?
