July Favourites: Makeup & Skincare

L-R: Avéne Gentle Gel Cleanser / Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Toilette / No7 Essential Moisture Night Cream / Estée Lauder Double Wear / Revlon Polish in 'Dreamer'

I've wanted to talk about these products for a little while now but wanted to test run a few of them for a month or so first!

001 - Avéne Gentle Gel Cleanser: I bought this cleanser because my skin was breaking out tremendously and I wanted something really sensitive and inoffensive to cleanse with. This product has really come up trumps for me, I'm really impressed. It literally melts makeup away, (although if you have a lot of eye makeup on I'd recommend using a separate eye makeup remover too) and I have picked it over my other cleansers every time! I don't use it as directed though, I apply if first and wipe away with a hot flannel - I think it helps to remove makeup better! Anyway, my skin has never been clearer and it has definitely helped to eradicate redness from under my eyes, so I'm really happy with it!

002 - Miss Dior Cherie Eau De Toilette: This has been my staple perfume for a long time now, but its in my July favourites because its such a lovely versatile scent that I've been using religiously every day. I got this as a gift, but its definitely worth the investment.

003 - No7 Essential Moisture Night Cream: I recently got a No7 voucher and decided to purchase this as I'd recently run out of night cream. I'm really impressed with this product - its not too greasy in the way that a lot of night creams are, and my skin has been super soft every morning. I have also noticed a reduction in the bags under my eyes which is a definite plus!

004 - Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup: I'm not going to bang on about this too long - I'm well aware that it's a blogger favourite and has graced every popular blog that has ever existed, but DO believe the hype, it truly is fantastic. I use this with Benefit Porefessional as a primer and my skin is literally flawless. Must-have - go out and buy it!

005 - Revlon Nail Polish in 'Dreamer': I fell in love this this colour as soon as I saw it; its so summery and bright, and since it's good quality its long lasting too. Definitely a must if you're going somewhere sunny, the colour would go brilliantly with a tan.

Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think of them?

  1. Whats the consistency of the Revlon polish? I dont much like the shape of the bottle so have never bought a revlon polish, but I am in love with their blushers so hopefully the polishes are just as good?

    1. The consistency is good actually, but I often need a good few coats to make the colour completely opaque. I'm a bit of a perfectionist though - this one looks fine with two coats.

I find that they go a bit gloopy with age, but that can easily be solved with a drop of nail varnish remover to thin it out a bit. I really like the brush as well, very easy to control. I hope that answered your question! Thanks for reading.

I'll check out your blog too :)
